THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND CRIMES CONDUCTS A STAKEHOLDERS COORDINATION MEETING AT RSA’S OFFICE- NAKAWA

The Department of Land Crimes in the Office of the DPP carried out a stakeholders coordination meeting at the RSA’s Office-Nakawa.

The meeting which was attended by Prosecutors from both Kampala and Nakawa Regions, and investigators from Police, was facilitated by experts in land and estate matters to wit;

The Administrator General Mr. Charles Kasibayo who made a presentation on: The management of the estate of deceased persons, offences, challenges and best practices.

 The Ag. Commissioner Land Registration Mr. Baker Mugaino who made a presentation on: The process of land transfer and registration in Uganda.

 The representative of the Commandant Land Protection Police Unit ( LPPU) who made a presentation on: Investigations of land crimes, challenges and best practices in Uganda.

HoD Land Crimes Mr. Andrew Odiit,  told participants that this was a consultative meeting to gauge their knowledge in the handling of land matters and noted the gaps which would form a basis for future training.

The Department also disseminated the Guidelines on the Land crimes in Uganda.
